Packaging Design Concept
Preserved foods are not only meant to remain sealed in household jars; this project reimagines their wisdom as something that can be carried out of the home and integrated into life on the road. It reflects the art festival’s intention to transform local Hakka produce into a portable and thoughtful takeaway experience.
Extending the intelligence of local produce into a contemporary lifestyle, the design develops a visual language connected to the art festival. Through an imprinting process, preserved foods are “preserved” once again in another form. Ingredients found along Romantic Route 3 — including citrus, dried bamboo shoots, preserved mustard greens, ginger lily, dried cauliflower, dried radish, dried persimmon, and perilla — become the symbolic protagonists of CAN CAN ROUTE 3. Natural wrinkles reminiscent of food textures further evoke the warmth and tactile quality of preservation.
